It's here at last! And we are going to start betting straight away but to small stakes. Because it is hard to predict results at the beginning of the season we will start betting small and we may use some progressive staking so it is important you don't miss bets. All bets are going to be given in points this season, you should start with a 1000 point starting bank, I recommend £1000, but you can start with anything from £100 to £100,000, I am going to jump straight in this season and start with a £100,000 bank. Don't worry the bets we do and any staking plans at the beginning of the season will be very safe methods and we will never risk more than 10% of the bank (100 points) in the first 10 weeks of the season. After 10 weeks have passed we will be doing compilersystem bets as usual, we do not do these bets at the start of the season because they don't work as well due to unpredictable results. Waste of time and money, neither side has anything to gain from winning the match and results are generally unpredictable. If you want to have a bet on the Man Utd V Chelsea community sheild then I would go for Man Utd because of the amazing players they have now, however it is very hard to predict what teams either side will play, so bet small. As you can see from the screenshot above I can only win now, the least I can make is £720 and I'm happy with that! Last year at this stage in the Carling Cup 75% of the favourites won and I think it may be slighty more this year, with the only real suprise being Chesterfield going through. It wasnt really a good idea to pick Manchester United yesterday as the line up wasnt at all great and Crewe where playing with good motivation. I decided not to bet on Manchester Utd because of the line up, it just goes to show that you cant always know what to bet until on until very close to the game and of course I cant send out selections 10 minutes before every game. I surgest that if you know about football and you know the line up doesnt have the best players, dont bet. I always think it is better to not bet than bet and lose. Looking back Tottenham away to MK dons would have been a better selection simply because MK dons are completely rubbish and Tottenham played a top side, although Man Utd should have thrashed Crewe with a better line up, in the end a 1-1 draw was the 90 minute result at Crewe. I was looking into a sure bet investment technique in the World Cup where you simply back teams to win the competition who have already gone through the current round before the other teams in that round play (only works in cup competitions). The idea being that when all the teams had gone through that round there would be less teams in the running to win so the odds for them winning would have to get slighty shorter and you lay them off again before the next round of the competition. Believe it or not this would have worked perfectly in the knock out rounds of the world cup and also in this round of the Carling Cup if you backed all the teams that got through on Tuesday and then layed them off again today after more teams had got through - less teams possible to win therefore slighly lower odds even on the ones who had already got through. To work out the recommended bet simply divide your bank by 100 and then multiply the result by the percentage given, the starting bank stays the same no matter what profits or loses are gained until the starting bank has more than doubled - we can then start using the winnings with complete ease of mind as we have a back up if we come across some very bad luck. How to work out the recommended bet as a percentage (%) Original starting bank- divided by 100 - times the percentage amount (e.g. 7.5% of £1000 is 1000 divided by 100 which is £10 - £10 times 7.5 is £75 - So £75 is 7.5% of £1000) Just remember that the original starting banks do not change whether we win the bet on Saturday or not.
